Color or No Color, That Is the Question

It seems that color in bridal is all the rage these days. Remember way back when, like when I got married the first time, when everything was white.

The dress, the pearls, even the diamond engagement ring. Now you are more likely to see an engagement ring that is not even a diamond. Sapphire engagement rings are hot again since Princess Diana’s ring is now on Kate Middleton’s finger.

Ruby center stones are also popular, as are raw or rough diamonds. Designer Todd Reed was one of the first to use these rough diamonds in bridal, and for that special lady, it is a great choice. But most of the time you will see color in the diamond itself.

Yellow diamonds are very popular now. I have one myself, but also brown or “chocolate” diamonds as they are referred to now. If you have the BIG budget, try pink or blue diamonds. Natural pinks and blues are quite expensive, but also quite spectacular.

You will see lots of colored diamonds that have been enhanced to get their color. Be sure to always deal with a reputable jeweler and always ask if the color is natural.

Happy shopping!
